For the last couple of weeks everyone seems to be going crazy about Magnum. The craze was spread via social media, it seemed everyone needed to get a taste of this Belgian chocolate vanilla ice cream bar. Demand was so high that there was a supposed shortage with supermarket freezers being left empty for days.
To be perfectly honest I had to plans of giving in to the Magnum craze, however for several weeks the Little Girl would drop hints now and then about how she was wondering how Magmum would taste, that she heard this and this talking about how good the ice cream bar. Each time I told her that if she would willingly do her chores for a month I would reward her with this treat. But tonight I gave in, at the dinner table my Mom also dropped a hint that she would love to taste this, and then somebody mentions that they just heard that the nearby village grocery store just got a new delivery of Magnum. So with hints coming from so many family members I decided shell out the money, though I must say it was begrudgingly .
So how did everyone feel about their first taste of Magnum? They all fell head over heels in love with it. I kept hearing how they loved the Belgian chocolate coating and just how smooth and creamy the vanilla ice cream was. As for me I was not too crazy about it, found the chocolate coating and the ice cream way too sweet for my taste, but I have never been a sweets person. But hey the important thing is the Little Ones enjoyed their first taste of Magnum, those precious smiles with lips smeared with vanilla ice and melted chocolate make worth its price.

I love Magnum Almond, but I can't stand Chocolate Truffle -- too sweet!
ReplyDeleteI am one of the many crazy people eager to taste this Magnum haha, just when I'm gonna buy "sold out" the store says.
ReplyDeleteomg omg i used to put ice cream on my lips too when I was young. the kids totally enjoyed the ice cream but i must agree people should stop going gaga about it.
ReplyDeleteMagnum :)
ReplyDeleteMany people is crazy about this. :)
Magnum invasion! Lol. I love the truffle flavor. :)
ReplyDeleteThe choco coating is the best part though I also found them all too sweet!
ReplyDeleteI still prefer the Korean ice cream bars :)))
I like the Almond variant, but yes, the classic is a little too sweet for me. I have to agree though that Magnum is way overhyped! XD But the important thing is, your little ones seemed to have really enjoyed their first encounter with Magnum.. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was not crazy about it either. I prefer the cheaper ice cream bars sold in groceries.
ReplyDeleteI find it too sweet too, it's good but I like others better.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me to get some para di naman ako mahuli sa kaguluhan!
ReplyDeleteNever tried this but I think I'll buy now..lol! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Haagen Dazs gal, but we have Magnum here in Canada also! Have yet to try Magnum :)
ReplyDeletei prefer the regular pinipig crunch over this thing. for one it's too expensive and it's too sugary and not at all healthy even if everybody tells me that you're only eating this once, i imagine my children eating a whole bowl of sugar and drinking a litre of coke. that's how sweet this thing is...:)
ReplyDeleteA lot of kids really love magnum. I just hope Magnum will have White Chocolate here in the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteJust followed you blog, hope you follow mine too

I'll choose chocolate twin popsies over this anytime.
ReplyDeleteI never had a chance to have this ice cream. There are some reviews that it is not good. Soem says that it was overpriced because of the social craze. They said that it should be sold like the normal pinipig crunch.
ReplyDeleteIf I got a budget for this one, I'll try it.
